Over the past 34 years Susanne has crafted an award-winning design firm from the ground up. Susanne’s passion for interior design and her business acumen has been the foundation on which SLC Interiors has been built. The company boasts an impressive portfolio of work with projects throughout New England and much of the eastern seaboard. Susanne prides herself on the company’s ability to provide clients with the expertise and skills to create unique and elegantly tailored interiors. By seamlessly integrating the companies highly refined methodology with world renown architects and builders, SLC Interiors is able to create homes that are true expressions of art. Susanne was recently recognized for her outstanding contributions to the interior design community and inducted into the New England Design Hall of Fame in 2022.
Inspired by her mother and namesake, Susanne Sr., Susanne grew up in a wonderfully creative home and an environment full of custom goods crafted by hand and with love. With this penchant for beauty, Susanne went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Interior Design from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During her studies, Susanne traveled to Paris where she focused on Decorative Art & Architecture and was a teacher’s assistant to Dr. Arnold Friedman, founder, and former director of Pratt Institute’s Interior Design Program. Susanne has also taught advanced classes on Interior Design and Color Theory at the New England School of Art & Design
Susanne continues to travel frequently, sourcing exquisite goods and top-notch services from around the world. As a patron of the arts and a proud member of the Institute for Classical Art & Architecture, Susanne enjoys furthering her studies with recent trips to Vienna, Paris, London, and Cologne. Susanne and her twin daughters are also accomplished, avid equestrians. Along with her husband, Susanne and family run one of the USA’s top sport-horse facilities in Middleburg Virginia.
Natalie Lebeau
Natalie Lebeau | Principal
Principal Designer Natalie Lebeau joined Susanne and the SLC Interiors Team in 2011 following an exciting decade of design in New York City. Since then, Natalie has helped shape what the firm is today. She oversees both the creative direction and logistics of all design projects well as the day-to-day operations of the ten-person firm. Her outstanding leadership, impressive design talent and unwavering dedication are the pillars of her success at SLC. She has a deep understanding of the building process and works directly with architects, builders, and vendors to ensure impeccable quality and timely completion of all projects.
Educated at The Fashion Institute of Technology, and an artist since childhood, her “old school meets new school” approach to the design process melds traditional hand-sketching with AutoCAD and 3D Rendering for an optimal client experience. Alongside SLC Founder, Susanne Csongor, she continues to push boundaries, exceed industry standards, and create interior environments that are true reflections of her clients.
Natalie, her husband, and 5-year-old son, call the Northshore of Boston home, but are also avid travelers – eager to soak up the latest in design, food, and fashion around the world.
Joseph Chartier-Petrelis
Joseph Chartier-Petrelis | Senior Designer
Joseph’s passion for interior design began with an interest in photography. While studying at MassArt, he first became interested in the world of interiors from behind the lens of a camera. His undergraduate work focused on the psychological impacts of space and led him to study interior design at the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University.
Joseph prides himself on the ability to combine both the artistic and pragmatic sides of interior design, resulting in highly refined environments tailored to individual client needs. With over 15 years of residential design experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to SLC Interiors.
Joseph holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Photography from Massachusetts College of Art & Design, and a Master of Art in Interior Design from the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University.
In his spare time, Joseph enjoys spending time with his husband, tending to his apple orchard, exploring antique photographic methods, and traveling to new and exciting places.
Samantha Camerlengo
Samantha Camerlengo | Senior Designer
Senior Designer Samantha Camerlengo has an impressive background in high-end residential design and project management. With 15 years of experience working at Boston’s premier design firms, Samantha brings extensive knowledge of our complex industry and a keen eye for detail to the SLC Interiors team.
Having grown up in a family of builders & antique purveyors, Samantha’s interest in Interior Design began at a young age. With exposure to the world of custom interiors early on, Samantha developed a deep passion for the arts that lead her to earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design at Suffolk University’s New England School of Art and Design.
At SLC Interiors, Samantha skillfully oversees multifaceted projects from start to finish. Adept at both creative design and organized leadership, Samantha’s passion and dedication are reflected in her work and the enjoyment of tailoring homes to client’s specific lifestyles and individual needs.
As the mother of two young boys Samantha is no stranger to multi-tasking and juggling just about anything that comes her way. When she’s not cheering the boys on during a sporting event, she enjoys reading, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Sharon Gorrell
Sharon Gorrell | Interior Design Assistant
Sharon is a wonderfully talented and highly skilled member of the SLC Interiors team. Since childhood, Sharon has naturally been drawn to the arts and possesses an innate sense of balance, harmony, and a deep love of color. With a fascination for regional and historical design elements, Sharon also continues to be inspired and amazed by the beauty of the natural world.
With a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Utah State University, Sharon has additionally spent time studying Visual Arts & Art History. Starting her professional career in New York, working alongside renown designer, Amanda Nisbet, Sharon has also practiced interior design in Salt Lake City.
Sharon finds gratification in collaborative teamwork and assisting in the creation of spectacular interiors. Outside of SLC Interiors, Sharon enjoys running, knitting, playing piano, and spending time with her husband and three children.
Laurie Kaufman
Laurie Kaufman | Office Manager
Laurie Kaufman joined SLC Interiors, Inc in the summer of 2005 as the office manager. She has over 25 years experience managing high end residential design firms. Her experience has helped in developing office policies, procedures, and fully integrated financial systems. She works closely with the design team to ensure all projects run smoothly. She is also responsible for all financial aspects of the company.
Laurie holds a B.S. in Accounting and an A.S. in Management from Bentley University.
In her spare time she enjoys sewing, scrapbooking and cheering her children on at their various sporting events.
Michelle O’Connor
Michelle O’Connor | Admininstrative Assistant
Michelle O’Connor joined SLC Interiors Inc, in September 2004 as the firm’s Librarian after leaving her role as a Human Resources Representative at community hospital to spend more time with her growing family. Michelle quickly adjusted to the creative and fast paced design world. She rose through the ranks and is currently an Administrative Assistant. She also works closely with the designers on their individual projects.
Michelle holds a B.A. in Marketing from University of Massachusetts. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, spinning, and photography and keeping up with the demands of her three children.
