The relationship between interior designers, architects and builders.

I always try and develop relationships with other professionals when we have a similar mindset about service, about integrity, about high level of design. And what I found is when you do that there’s just this natural sort of evolution of them wanting me on their teams and me wanting them on our teams. So it’s a very nice symbiotic sort of relationship.

We’re very fluent with architects and builders. And that’s why we think architects and builders like to work with us, because we provide them the information that they need. The architect likes to have a dialogue, the builder wants information. So we provide all the specifications for the materials, what’s the flooring all the plumbing fixtures and fittings, the toilets, faucets, where all the towel bars are going, decorative lighting, where in the walls it’s going. Builders love working with us because we have very strong internal methodology where we get tremendous amount of data together and we can give it to the builder so that they can build their projects. Because they have 20 or 30 or guy showing up every day and if they don’t have the tile, they don’t have the specifications for the light fixture, it’s just really puts a glitch into their whole process.

So we focus very heavily on how we can service our architects as well as builders. And in doing that we’ve been in credibly fortunate that we have ended up with some of the best projects in the area, where it’s an interesting site it’s a really talented architect talented builder who’s got wonderful craftspeople. So, it’s been a good investment of all of our time and it takes a lot of discipline to be able to do that and then it also attracts really great clients.
